Industrial RO and EDI System for Power Plant 75,000 GPD - Angola

Application: Power Plant Water Treatment

Water Challenges: Pure Aqua manufactured and supplied a single pass RO followed by EDI system to provide ultra-purified water. Removing contaminants present in the water help improve the efficiency of operations within the power plant. This also increases the functionality of the systems within the power plant to work at full capacity. The system was designed to produce water quality of 17 MΩ or better. The RO/EDI system included feed and backwash pumps, prechlorination, multimedia filter, dechlorination dosing, antiscalant dosing, pH adjustment, single pass RO followed by an EDI system and all necessary instruments to make the system fully automatic. High purity water was needed for boilers and cooling towers within the power plant.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua manufactures reverse osmosis systems to reduce the dissolved solids that lead to scaling. The right RO system design will utilize a high-quality pressure vessel, filter tanks and high-quality instruments such as conductivity, pH and ORP meters. The system included a twin double pass RO followed by an EDI system. The waste coming from both double pass RO’s is treated by a third RO. The waste water coming from the power plant’s manufacturing process is fed to an ultrafiltration system and recycled back to the RO system. Our reverse osmosis and EDI systems were designed to meet the product water requirement for the power plant.
