Application: Mine Water Treatment
Water Challenges: Brackish water reverse osmosis would work to purify water that comes from a well, lake, or river for the purposes of various applications, such as mine water treatment. Brackish water is typically a combination of pure water and seawater leaving in at a medium level of salinity. A medium level of salinity however, is not acceptable for consumption. The process in which the water goes through in order to be pure is referred to as reverse osmosis. Reverse osmosis provides those who do not have consumable water with the opportunity to purify a necessity for livelihood. Totally dissolved solids (TDS) and total suspended solids (TSS) are lowered due to reverse osmosis which reflect in how many parts per million (ppm) are in your drinking water. The objective was the removal of Nitrate and Selenium to meet stringent environmental discharge limits.
Applied Solution: Pure Aqua manufactured and supplied two Industrial Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis systems with pre and post treatment systems, to a major company in Canada. This RO system included two high pressure stainless steel pumps, modified to produce 600 gallons per minute. Our advanced water treatment systems includes the RO-500 Series which meet strict environmental standards and works to remove nitrate and selenium from water used in mines.
This is model BW-900K-18780-5 from our RO-500 Series.

Pure Aqua, Inc. designs and manufactures water treatment systems in addition to industrial BWRO systems. In March 2012, Pure Aqua, Inc. designed and manufactured Two Industrial BWRO Systems for an open pit mine in Canada. The objective was the removal of Nitrate and Selenium to meet stringent environmental discharge limits. The feed capacity was 1.7 MGD, split into two identical systems at a maximum 1,000 ppm feed water TDS. These Industrial BWRO Systems were selected from our RO-500 series.
