Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis Plant 108,000 GPD - Yemen

Product Description

Application: Beverage Company

This is model TW-108K-3580-50Hz from our RO-400 Series.

RO 400 series ( TW-108K-3580 )

Since its initial startup, the equipment has been running smoothly with minimal troubleshooting. Brackish water reverse osmosis plants are manufactured and designed to remove salt and most other contaminants that are discovered in water. They are utilized in places where consumable water is salty and contains dissolved minerals which can be difficult to be removed by any other technology. These plants take advantage of the process of reverse osmosis to purify salty water. A high-pressure pump is tasked with pushing water molecules through a semipermeable membrane leaving salt and other contaminants behind. Purified water is collected from the permeate side of the membrane, while the water containing the concentrated salt and other impurities are discarded into the drain from the concentrate side.

Water Challenges: Beverage companies in Yemen require the use of reverse osmosis systems to convert the abundant amount of available brackish water into fresh, clean water. Reverse osmosis treatment is necessary since the quality of the produced used in the beverage production process is vital to the quality of the finished beverage products. The average brackish water reverse osmosis plant includes multimedia and activated carbon filters, a water softener with brine tank, the RO system with membranes, and a UV sterilizer post-treatment. Degasifiers are utilized in demineralizer applications to strip CO2 following a strong acid cation exchanger or softening application. They are also utilized as an economical way to strip hydrogen sulfide or volatile organic compounds (VOC). Too much gas can cause many negative impacts for water treatment and applications. Naturally, pure water transports a certain concentration of CO2 gases formed by decaying vegetation in soil and respiration of water organisms. Also, they are naturally present in rainwater when it percolates through the ground and dissolves alkaline minerals such as limestone. Gases that are dissolved in water can subject consumers to many problems. Hydrogen sulfide gas causes water to have that rotten egg smell which drastically reduces the quality of the finished beverage products. Carbon dioxide gas creates high corrosion of concrete, pipes, and equipment used in beverage plants. A colorless, odorless and tasteless gas like Methane, adds up in water systems and causes system noise, water hammering, and faucet spitting. Radon gas, a known carcinogen, and poisonous gas are naturally present in groundwater. This is why it’s a good idea to remove these gases from treated water.

Applied Solution: This brackish water industrial reverse osmosis plant to a major company in Yemen was manufactured with the objective to produce drinking water with less than 500 ppm. The product water capacity was 108,000 GPD from well water of approximately 1000 ppm TDS. The plant came complete with an RO system, chemical dosing system, cleaning skid, and a degasifier. The TW-108K-3580 system was selected from our RO-400 series while the FDD-75 degasifier was selected from our FDD series.
