Reverse Osmosis Manufacturer
Industrial Reverse Osmosis Systems RO 500 Series
Reverse osmosis using a semipermeable membrane first became commercially viable about 40 years ago. Much of the initial focus was on producing potable water from a brackish or seawater feed stream. Since that time, thousands of reverse osmosis systems have been manufactured and are in use worldwide. The technology is currently used to perform many liquid separations, especially where the goal is to reject or remove inorganic salts, most notably sodium chloride.
In the membranes industry, reverse osmosis manufacturers can categorize four popular types of membranes used in water treatment industry:
- Reverse Osmosis for treating fresh water sources
- Reverse Osmosis for treating sea water sources often called desalination membranes
- NANO Membranes System (NF)
- Ultra Filtration (UF)
When planning, designing and fabricating equipment, a reverse osmosis manufacturer or reverse osmosis company will generally require an analysis of the water to be treated. The analysis will not only determine the pressure required to most efficiently overcome the osmotic pressure of the feed, but also dictate what treatment will be required ahead of reverse osmosis. An important tool in designing a system is computer software that, upon entering feed water constituents from an analysis, one can use to calculate and predict reverse osmosis performance at different production and recovery rates. All of the major membrane manufacturers provide this software, however, it’s most effective in the hands of an experienced designer with factory engineering support. From 1 feed stream, 2 streams exit a reverse osmosis system, the permeate/product and the concentrate/reject. Managing the reject stream through pretreatment and recovery rate within the system is critical to a successful reverse osmosis application. Reverse osmosis membrane elements have a life expectancy of approximately 2-4 years, assuming fouling, scaling and chemical issues have been properly addressed. Membranes can and sometimes do perform longer than 4 years, usually as a function good design, operation and feed water.
Pure Aqua has been a reverse osmosis manufacturer for more than a decade. Some of its employees have worked with reverse osmosis and water treatment for more than 25 years. In addition, Pure Aqua has the support of the leading manufacturers of membranes, pressure vessels, pumps, motors and controls. Years of experience and the world’s best components provide a solid foundation for the company going forward. Our size and rate of growth provide us the ability to get and pass on prices that are competitive with anyone.
