Membrane BioReactor Systems 5000 GPD - Indonesia

Product Description

Application:Wastewater Treatment

This is model TMR 090-100S

  • Produce 5,000 GPD
  • Reverse Osmosis Membrane
  • 98% BOD5 Removal

There are two types of configurations for MBR: Internal and Submerged.

Internal: membranes are submerged and are integral to the biological reactor.

Submerged: membranes are a separate system method in need of an intermediate pumping step.

Water Challenges: In this world where water is becoming an increasingly scarce resource, it has become too valuable to dispose of. As a result, wastewater is becoming reused at a greater to supply greater quantities of water once treated from its contaminants. Wastewater from large municipals are often discharged into water sources such as lakes, rivers, or the ocean without any sort of treatment, which leads to pollution and harms aquatic life. In order to reuse wastewater, it must be thoroughly purified using membrane bioreactors which are specifically designed to treat wastewater and convert it into water that can be used for irrigation, washing or drinking applications.

Applied Solution: Pure Aqua successfully supplied six Toray Membrane BioReactor (MBR) Systems to a major company in Indonesia. Each system was designed to produce 5,000 GPD.

From its initial start-up, the systems have been operating accordingly with minimal trouble-shooting. The Membrane BioReactor (MBR) is a state of the art pre-engineered sewage treatment system utilizing Pure Aqua’s water treatment expertise with Toray’s submerged membrane technology. The membrane separation process eliminates the conventional sedimentation tank and allows high volumetric loading, resulting in a smaller footprint. The MBR can produce high quality effluent with high BOD5 removal (about 98%), complete nitrification and partial de-nitrification and achieves virtually complete TSS removal. Membrane bioreactor (MBR) consists of an exclusive wastewater treatment method developed for various municipal and industrial applications with plant sizes that reach 48 million liters per day. Membrane bioreactor systems are utilized in applications such as water reuse, turnkey projects, new housing developments, retrofits, parks, and hotels. It lies between ultrafiltration or microfiltration with a suspended growth bioreactor.

[custom-usage]

When there is an increased demand for recycling wastewater and stricter environmental regulations, membrane bioreactor systems would be practical solutions for existing and future wastewater treatments. They claim exclusive features such as ease of element replacement, reduced module height, and fine-bubble air diffusers. Each individual element within the MBR can be simply removed when it needs to be inspected or replaced. The module height of a membrane bioreactor system is reduced to suit containerized package systems and several applications with height limitations. Fine-bubble air diffusers greatly benefit MBRs by extremely lowering the daily cleaning operation of air diffusers and raising the efficiency of oxygen dissolution. MBR methods can produce effluent of high quality enough to be discharged to coastal, surface or brackish waterways or to be recollected for urban irrigation when being used with domestic wastewater.

Other advantages for MBR are small footprint, easy retrofit and upgrade of old wastewater treatment plants. MBR methods can work at higher mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS) concentrations compared to conventional settlement separation systems, therefore, lowering the reactor volume and gaining the same loading rate.
